- Weather forecast for Key Largo
- (by wunderground.com)
Wherever you are right now, chances are
the weather is better here in the Florida Keys. That’s true
even on a summer day. The hottest it’s ever been in Key Largo
is 97º F (36º C), and that was way back in 1880. At
the peak of summer, the average high is 89º F (32º C).
We don’t have any super-highways or urban sprawl to radiate
the sun’s heat. Not only that, but our islands are surrounded
by cooling ocean waters.
Wise Floridians from the mainland flock
to the Keys on steamy weekends because the air is usually a few
degrees cooler here. The water temperature might be in the mid-80s
(30º C) but the sea is nevertheless refreshing for swimming,
snorkeling or diving. In the winter, cold fronts can bring frost
to mainland Florida, but you can be sure there will be no frost
here. The all-time record low for Key Largo is 41º F (5º
C) set in 1981. Divers or snorkelers usually get by with a “shortie”
wet suit.
During these winter months, it almost never
rains. By late May, however, the season's first thundershowers
start popping up. Rarely do they stick around long enough to spoil
an entire day. You might be wondering about the Atlantic hurricane
season, which can affect the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of the United
States as well as the Caribbean and the Bahamas. The official
hurricane season begins June 1st and ends on November 30. Traditionally,
the highest potential for storms is between Aug. 15 and Oct. 15.
However, the daily weather during this period tends to be some
of the most beautiful of the year.

Customer Feedback
Leave your own feedback here:
- Patrick (July 2010):
- "Thank you to the staff of Scuba Fun in Key Largo. If you think that the Keys are not the place to go diving this year you are missing out. The only oil I saw this year was on my salad that I had for dinner. Diving with Scuba Fun in Key Largo was the most incredible time I have had. They thought of everything to insure that my dive vacation was one of the best. The guides made sure that I got the best tour of every dive site. They offered incredible packages for more than just diving. Make sure that you plan to see all that the Key’s have to offer, Scuba Fun will help you. I am looking forward to going back again soon."

- Sebastian (July 2009):
- "We had great time, everything was perfect. Rick was
amazing with Cata. Thank you very much!"
|
- John (January 2009):
- "Sven, Anya, Rick and Avery:
I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for a great time
while in Key Largo. The dives were great. Avery did a great job
leading us on Friday afternoon. The equipment worked well and
the accomodations were perfect for our needs.
Don, Alan and I really enjoyed each of the dives. Both Alan and
Don have been diving for decades. As the novice of the group
(just my 2nd time on a boat dive) and the organizer, I had concerns
about what would happen working with someone unknown to us. Alan,
a New Zealander, who just finished a live aboard over Christmas
on the Great Barrier Reef, felt the sites we saw and the variety
of life was as good as any he has experienced. We agreed that
this was worth every penny.
Again, thanks. While my dives are limited, these will be memorable
dives for me.
John"

- Christian (July 2008):
- "Just got back from Key Largo, it was great!
- 1.5 days of intensive diving, with great service from Anya.
Everything worked out perfectly, starting with the first extensive
and friendly information to the booking - she even noticed that
my coworker needed a Checkdive..
- The rental gear was in great shape, of all the dive centers
I have visited this was surely the best...
- And if you are diving in the Keys for the first time, you
will be happy to have a dive guide like Rick, who very patiently
explains everything.
- I watched Rick teach an AOW class in the afternoon, and I
can say that this is how you learn well.
- The dive sites are really nice, the water is very warm, the
visibility is (mostly) great, interesting divesites.
Spiegel Grove - a wreck sunk for divers - is unbelievable - for
beginning wreck divers an unforgettable adventure, because you
can dive into it fairly safely.
- If you want to do 4 dives a day it might be a little too
much, so plan your time...
- And if you want to eat well, ask Anya, her advice is excellent!
- So, if you are in the area, reserve at least one day for
diving and stop by at Scuba-Fun.
- Christian"

- Marianne (May 2008):
- "I can't stop telling people how great your operation
is. (...) Stacy loved diving. She wants to do advanced, rescue
and dm and be an instructor at 18. I am sure that part of it
was the positive experience of your boat and you guys. So Thanks
to you too.
Marianne"

- Martina & Klaus (May 2008):
- "Based on the many positive reports about Scuba-Fun
in Key Largo, we decided to spend our vacation there 3 week s
ago.
This dive center is very dilligent and organized. The gear is
in top shape. After a baby break of 3 years, we did a refresher
instructed by Rick
in the pool, followed by several boat dives to the reef. We even
did the first wreck dive of our diving career, which was really
very impressive.
- Anya always tried not to book us on crowded boats - we really
appreciated this!
- We will always remember Anya, Greta and Rick, our 1 1/2 year
old son is still talking about Anya!
There is no better dive center, the area is great, we would definitely
come back!
- All the best, Martina, Tim and Klaus"
|
- Uwe (February 2008):
- "At first we were pretty doubtful...Florida and diving...but
it was worth it...
- The dives, the service, the equipment, everything was excellent.
- I have never experienced service like they offer it at Scuba-Fun.
Anya in the shop, our guide Rick and the whole crew very very
friendly. The equipment looked newer than I have ever seen anywhere
else.
- Unfortunately we only had time for two dives, but we want
to come back. This is diving how it should be."
|
- Christian (February 2008):
- "I went diving with Scuba-Fun from February 23 to 28.
I felt comfortable from the minute I arrived there! The way Anya
takes care of everything is unbelievable! Everybody on the team
is fun and always in for a joke!
I had very nice dives and with Anya as a guide I was able to
explore the reef and see a lot of fish (eagleray, sharks, etc).
I am not a great writer, but I hope I was able to give you a
little impression.
Best regards to the whole Scuba-Fun-Team."

- Stacy, Steven, Wendi and Adam (December 2007):
- "Hi Rob and Anya,
We just wanted to thank you for EVERYTHING! Finding a boat running
on Christmas Day, getting everything set up, and for making our
certification dives an awesome experience! We are looking forward
to diving together again. We are in Florida at least twice a
year so we'll have to make the Keys one of our regular stops.
Thanks again. Have a happy and a healthy New Year.
Stacy, Steven, Wendi and Adam"
